Ian, born in Yorkshire, England, and Penny, born in Ontario, Canada, have lived and worked in places as far reaching as Russia, West Africa, England, India, Kuwait, Manila, America and of course Canada.

Ian and Penny actually met at the Anglican Church in Moscow when Penny was teaching at the International School situated inside the American Embassy and Ian was working for an Irish company with clients in Moscow. Consequently the B&B has original artworks from all these places and antiques from England. The 1850 broad wood Drawing Room grand that was once in the parlour is now in the Colouratura Fine Art gallery where classical music concerts are held.

Ian's training in the hotel industry has included Downton Abbey-like English stately homes and the Savoy and Claridges Hotels as well as hotel school and University. Penny, who has a Masters in Fine Art, has taught English, drama and art as a well as designing costumes for opera, ballet and drama. They are both passionate about community theatre and the performing arts. Looking after guests takes centre stage of the B&B, giving the best in food, service and attention to detail as they possibly can.
